Eye candy in the form of salty rigs line the streets. They slowly creep in front of you as you’re driving. Their engines sputter from one surf break to the next in North County San Diego, California.
Leucadia, Encinitas, and Cardiff-by-the-Sea are home to these relics. Their unmistakable personalities are distinguished by their rusted fenders & boxy, metal bodies.
All images shot on Kodak Portra 400 & 800, 35mm film on my Canon Ae-1. My soul demands I document these souvenirs of the past.
You will see a few snowy wagons, captured on a vacation in Big Bear, California. They’ve undoubtedly spent days seaside & deserve to be included.
This is an ongoing series. I will continue updating it and contribute the rig photos to my “Lost at Sea Book Club” film series underway.
